Bangsamoro Mujahideen PEACE Village launched in BARMM

COTABATO CITY (07 December 2020) – In the collective efforts to develop a roadmap to attain a lasting peace and development in Mindanao, Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA) led by Administrator and Chief Executive Officer Abdulghani ‘Gerry’ Ajul Salapuddin, has formally presented today the Authority’s concept on the proposed Bangsamoro Mujahideen PEACE Village before the members of the Parliament (MPs) from Basilan Province and representatives of the different ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

 

“People Economic Advancement and Community Empowerment (PEACE) Village” is a concept and strategy conceptualized by Administrator Salapuddin in order to formulate a framework for a viable and self-sustaining socio-economic development, communities, and settlements for the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) elements in Mindanao.

 

SPDA Corporate Affairs Department Manager Virginia “Vicky” L. Uy had comprehensively presented the concept of the proposed project while the signing of the pledge of support was also conducted right after the presentation of the PEACE Village concept.  

 

Earlier today before the formal presentation of the Bangsamoro Mujahideen PEACE Village concept at the Pagana Kutawato Native Restaurant, this city, SPDA Administrator and Chief Executive Officer Abdulghani ‘Gerry’ Ajul Salapuddin, had an early morning meeting with MP Alzad T. Sattar, MILG Deputy Minister Juni Ilimin, and the Officers of the Bangsamoro Mujahideen PEACE Village Cooperative at the SPDA’s BARMM Regional Satellite Office in Cotabato City. (Celestino B.
