SPDA Explores on Halal Feed Industry
DAVAO CITY (09 January 2025) – The year 2025 has shown a very promising business prospects for Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA) as Administrator & Chief Executive Officer Abdulghani ‘Gerry’ Ajul Salapuddin is presently on the hype of pushing for a halal feeds business in Southern Philippines.Yesterday, January 8, 2025, a dinner meeting was held among the SPDA executives together with Malaysian Consul General Deddy Faisal Bin Ahmad Salleh and Consul Ahmadulkuddus Hussain and thrashed out plans on the Authority’s future engagement with Malaysian businessmen who are into halal feeds business.
SPDA Administrator & CEO Gerry Salapuddin was accompanied by Deputy Administrator and Chair of the Management Committee Munap H. Pacio, Mr. Cris B. Dagala, Operationas Department Manager, Mr. Ersan Warad, Finance & Administrative Department Manager, Mr. Norhan Salih, OIC Manager of Corporate Afairs Department, Mr. Albir Biruar, Budget Officer, Mr. Marlon Saloma, In-charge of the Corporate Planning, and Ms. Monaliza Ampuan, Administrative Officer V. The said meeting was an offshoot following the courtesy call to the Malaysian Ambassador H.E. Abdulmalik Melvin Castilano in November 2024 at the Malaysian Embassy in Makati. The discussion with Consul General Salleh was centered on Halal Feed Industry and SPDA’s plan to visit to Malaysia early this year.
Halal Feed Industry refers to the production of feeds and feedstuff for consumption by animals, whether production, companion, or managed wild and exotic species. The feed industry is also responsible for the production of feedstuff for use in aquaculture. (Celestino B. Siglos, Ed.D.)
