SPDA leads Intergovernmental Coordination Meeting with Government Agencies

DAVAO CITY (March 30, 2026) – Headed by Administrator & Chief Executive Officer Abdulghani ‘Gerry’ Ajul Salapuddin, the Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA) has led an intergovernmental coordination meeting at Acacia Hotel, Davao City, with the officials and representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MAFAR-BARMM), Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENRE), Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) and the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC) over the conflicting issuances on the land proclaimed for SPDA in the Municipalities of Amai Manabilang and Wao, Lanao del Sur.

This initiative by SPDA has sought to address and reach a consensus with the other government agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs) in Lanao del Sur on Presidential Proclamation No. 2046 series of 1981 signed by former President Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr.

This levelling-off meeting via a whole-government approach has showcased SPDA’s position and concerns on the alleged encroachment in the SPDA administered land in the said municipalities.

In an effort to achieve a holistic approach in settling the controversy, the Authority had coordinated with the BARMM’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (MENRE) and sought their assistance for the investigation and inspection on the alleged encroachment of Dole Pineapple Philippines plantation in the SPDA Administered land in the province.
