SPDA NEW LEADERSHIP ORDERS 30-DAY FAST-TRACK TO REOPEN SULOP POULTRY FARM; REVIVING AN ECONOMIC LIFELINE

SULOP, DAVAO DEL SUR — In a decisive move to revitalize the agency’s economic assets, the newly appointed Administrator/CEO Acmad M. Tomawis of the Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA) has officially ordered the immediate fast-tracking of operations at the Sulop Poultry Farm. The directive follows a comprehensive site visitation personally conducted by him with the SPDA management team on June 20, 2026, aimed at assessing the facility’s readiness for full reactivation.

The Sulop Poultry Project stands as one of the SPDA’s core income-generating initiatives. Recognizing its strategic value, the leadership has set a strict mandate to have the entire facility fully operationalized within 30 days.

During an emergency meeting on site with the agency’s Management Committee, critical directives were laid out to clear existing bottlenecks and guarantee a seamless restart. Management ordered the immediate prioritization and facilitation of funds to repair the farm’s damaged wastewater system and address and resolve environmental compliance concerns raised by the Local Government Unit (LGU).

Likewise, the SPDA Operations Department Manager Cristy B. Dagala was instructed to instantly coordinate with the project’s poultry integrator. This will ensure that the required volume of day-old chicks is secured and ready for delivery to coincide with the next contract growing cycle.

By accelerating the reopening of the Sulop facility, the SPDA aims to not only boost its internal revenue generation but also to support local economic stability through job preservation and agricultural productivity. With the 30-day countdown officially underway, the SPDA leadership expects swift execution from its engineering, finance, and operations teams to bring the farm back to full capacity ahead of schedule.
