SPDA Sports Festival 2024

DAVAO CITY (30 September 2024) – The Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA) capped the month-long 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary celebration through a sports festival obviously promoting camaraderie, strengthen teamwork, and nurture character and discipline among the Authority’s officials and rank and file employees.

This year’s thematic focus is on the importance of cultivating sustainable management for the achievement of future-ready civil service. The Civil Service Commission (CSC) had spearheaded the 124th PCSA pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, series of 1997, which was signed by the late President Fidel V. Ramos, declaring the month of September as Civil Service Month.

This was also in observance of the establishment of the Philippine Civil Service by virtue of Public Law No. 5 (An Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of an Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippine Islands), enacted on 19 September 1900.
