Palm oil manufacturing company initiates business linkage with SPDA

DAVAO CITY (24 April 2024) – Another business prospects are underway following the courtesy call and exploratory talks among the executives of Kenram Palmoil Industries, Inc. headed by its Executive Vice President James Roy N. Villareal and Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA) led by Administrator & Chief Executive Officer Abdulghani ‘Gerry’ Ajul Salapuddin at the Authority’s main office at Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City.

 

Established in 1957, Kenram Palmoil Industries, Inc. has been a reliable palm oil manufacturing company with more than eight hundred individual palm growers and cooperatives who farm about 16,500 hectares in the Philippines based from its 2017 records. It has other business ventures including power generation (electricity), and abaca fiber production. Their main production plant and farm areas are located in Isulan, the political capital of Sultan Kudarat Province and its head office is located at BDO Towers, Paseo de Roxas, Makati City.

 

During this meeting, SPDA Administrator Gerry Salapuddin does not only offer the Authority’s expansive agricultural lands in the Municipalities of Wao and Amai Manabilang, Lanao del Sur, as potential areas for abaca and palm oil plantations. Administrator Salapuddin also recommended for Kenram’s new investment haven in the Agrarian Cooperatives in Tipo-Tipo and Tairan in the Province of Basilan.

 

Salapuddin hopes the SPDA Team and KENRAM Palmoil Industries, Inc. would visit Basilan Province to conduct ocular inspection to the potential areas for development. He said SPDA will be closely working with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR)-Basilan on this program. Salapuddin opined that these joint efforts are meant to boost and sustain the gains of peace in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in particular and in Mindanao in general.

 

Kenram Palmoil Industries, Inc. delegation included Mr. Al Montecillo, Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Roseann Nabor, Business Development Manager, Mr. Tony Peralta, BAEP-CRESCENT BARMM Program Coordinator, and Ms. Jacque Laurente, BAEP-CRESCENT Project Associate, while SPDA was also represented by Deputy Administrator Munap H. Pacio, Corporate Affairs Department Manager Ms. Vicky L. Uy, Operations Department Manager Mr. Cristy B. Dagala, and Mr. Marlon S. Saloma, Business Development Division Chief. (Celestino B.
